2020 MIPS: Benchmark Application

The application of these benchmarks are intended to display where a clinic or therapist stands with respect to each PRO measure, as well as show how each therapist compares to the PRO Benchmark that must be met to show failure rate.

MIPS-eligible patients who have completed a minimum of two PRO forms for an assigned MIPS outcome measure are included in this report. The PRO score change is calculated based on the first and last PRO form provisioned in the application. A patient fails to progress if their change score fails to achieve the defined MCID for the PRO, and progresses if their change score meets or exceeds the defined MCID for the PRO. Ideally, the first and last forms represent PROS provisioned at baseline and discharge, but that is not a requirement.

In the following examples, each PRO is shown as well as it’s associated NPRS. They are to show those therapists who are performing above or below the benchmarks. A provider whose FTP rates are below the benchmark will show outperformed_benchmark as TRUE.

A clinic can identify therapists who may need further training or assistance in provisioning PROs using this report. By reporting and being cognizant of the outcomes, a therapist can work on the clinical outcomes and how they treat a patient, to further help the patients who are failing to progress by changing the clinical treatment.
